Können Institutionen (laufen) lernen?

Symposium

Description

The KinderKunstLabor (ChildrenArtLaboratory) in St. Pölten, Lower Austria, a new house for contemporary art, opened at the end of June 2024 in a building specially created for it. The first exhibition opened in September 2024. Even during the development of the house, children helped shape institutional practice on various levels.

How can experiences from these processes become tangible and interpretable for the institution, and even implementable? How can learning for an art institution - as a “learning institution” - become possible from this? Experts will discuss these questions at the first specialist symposium in the KinderKunstLabor. The publication of the same name, Können Institutionen (laufen) lernen? (Can institutions learn (to walk)?), will also be presented at the symposium. The Researcher-in-Residence, Anahita Neghabat (Apr. 2023-Feb. 2024), presents her expert contribution: Let the Material Lead! Co-creation through methodological diversity in the KinderKunstLabor.

Participants include: Ali Baş, Tom Braun, Veronika Ehm, Karin Kraus, Andreas Hoffer, Mona Jas, Emily Pringle, Eva Maria Stadler, Leanne Turvey & Alice Walton, Aron Weigl and others.
