Everyone is welcome at the KinderKunstLabor. Our focus is on young visitors and their wishes and perspectives. That’s why you will also find age specifications for some educational formats.

The KinderKunstLabor exhibits art by internationally acclaimed artists. The children’s perspective is a key aspect: therefore, the artists and curators always work in a close dialogue with them. The thoughts, feelings, and viewpoints of children and young people are always taken to heart. The art education formats are developed together with our young users. This process creates a space for everyone to experience new perspectives with and through art.

As some members of our art education team are specialised in early childhood cultural education, there are also educational formats for children under 1 year of age.

The KinderKunstLabor is open Tuesday until Sunday and on public holidays from 10 am until 5 pm.

You will find lockers in the basement for safe storage of your personal belongings.

On each floor, there are several toilets for young and adult visitors. There are also barrier-free toilets on every floor except the first. The toilets in the basement and in the restaurant area are equipped with changing tables.

Outside the play and exhibition areas, you are welcome to take a short break for refreshments and snacks.
If you didn't bring anything with you, the Altoona team will be happy to serve you soul food, drinks and organic ice cream.

By bus: 6 minutes with lines 7 or 8, 9 minutes with line 678, or 14 minutes with lines 2 or 14 to the stop “St. Pölten Dr.-Th.-Körner-Schule”
By bike: approx. 4 minutes

Take the A1 highway to St. Pölten junction, then take the S 33 to St. Pölten Ost exit. From here, follow the B1a to Schulring.

At the end of Hans-Schickelgruber-Straße, there is a parking lot for KinderKunstLabor visitors. When you register your licence plate number at the ticket office, you can park here for 3 hours free of charge.

Between Dr. Theodor Körner School and the KinderKunstLabor, there are 3 barrier-free parking spaces on Hans-Schickelgruber-Straße.

Please enter your licence plate number at the ticket desk in order to park for free. If you do not do this, you will be charged for parking.

Yes, there are 3 E-charging stations at the parking area at the end of Hans-Schickelgruber-Straße.

Tickets can be purchased on location at the ticket desk. Tickets for workshops and guided tours can also be purchased online.

All areas of the KinderKunstLabor – including the restaurant area – are barrier-free and can be reached via the elevator. There are also barrier-free toilets on each floor, with the exception of the first floor.

Yes, it is no problem to reach all levels of the KinderKunstLabor with the elevator. If you prefer, you can also leave it in the entrance area.

Yes, the toilets in the basement and restaurant area are equipped with changing tables.

You can breastfeed wherever you feel comfortable. If you would prefer a little more privacy, then please use our nursing room in the basement.

Assistance dogs and guide dogs for the blind are welcome at the KinderKunstLabor upon registration at the ticket desk. Registration in advance at buchung@kinderkunstlabor.at is not obligatory but simplifies the process.
