CO:CO
Christine and Irene Hohenbüchler (AT)
75 children between the ages of five and 13 worked together with KOERNOE to select artworks for the park. One of the artworks unveiled in Altoonapark is CO:CO, an organic composition made of metal by artists Christine and Irene Hohenbüchler.
Based on drawings and the children’s ideas for the design of Altoonapark, the artists spent several months designing a cavernous sculpture that also resembles an animal of sorts. It offers playful views inside and out, hiding places, and protection. The object is flanked by metal “flagpoles.” The name CO:CO was coined by Arin Berg, one of the co-creators from the art ideas workshop.
