Archipelago
Jakub Szczęsny (PL)
An Archipelago is a sea with a number of scattered islands. In the play area, various elements float in the room like islands: wooden sculptures are clustered in the centre like ice floes, a waterfall cascades down the wall, a large round bowl is filled with sand, soft textiles form cosy niches, reflective mobiles glide through the air, and much more. Our Archipelago offers a multitude of sensory and aesthetic experiences, especially for children up to the age of six. Jakub Szczęsny designed the space based on the research findings into Reggio pedagogy by St. Pölten elementary pedagogue Karin Kitz and the children of the Ratzersdorf kindergarten.
