mischer’traxler

Katharina Mischer and Thomas Traxler live and work in Vienna. At their design studio mischer’traxler, founded in 2009, they and their team create objects, furniture, and installations to investigate alternative production processes. They are interested in the balance between craftsmanship and technology and the relationship between people and nature. 

For the design of a “sculpture for humans and animals” in Altoona Park, the KinderKunstLabor moderated a multi-phase co-design process with mischer’traxler over the course of almost a year. The children’s favourite design – the Zuckerhut (Sugar Loaf) – was realised.
