Kay Walkowiak

Kay Walkowiak is a contemporary Austrian artist whose work operates at the intersection of sculpture, video, photography, and installation. After studying at the University of Applied Arts in Vienna and the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna, Walkowiak developed an artistic practice that explores themes such as materiality, space, and cultural narratives.
Often combining minimalist formal language with a philosophical approach, his works question the relationship between people, objects, and environments. A recurring theme is the dialogue between Western and Eastern cultures, inspired by his travels and research in Asia.

His work Stimuli (2014) is on view in the exhibition Paper, Rock, Scissors - Materials and Tools of Art (2025).
