Jeppe Hein
Jeppe Hein is an internationally renowned artist known for his interactive installations and sculptures. Formally simple and frequently employing humor, they dynamically engage with the traditions of minimalist sculpture and conceptual art of the 1970s. Works such as his reflective mirror labyrinths, accessible water pavilions, and modified benches often incorporate surprising and captivating elements that situate viewers at the center of the work, prompting them to question their experience and perception of the surrounding space while encouraging dialogue with others.
Interested in connection and mindfulness, Hein has also realized projects such as his global initiative Breathe with Me (first presented in 2019), in which breath guides participants while painting a line, making visible not only our self-awareness but also our collective life and relationship with one other and our environment.
His work Enlightment B (2002) is on view in the exhibition Paper, Rock, Scissors - Materials and Tools of Art (2025).
