Dream the FuturePast event
Description
Even in the womb, we perceive the world with our senses. But when do we begin dreaming? What do we dream in the first days of our lives and how do these dreams shape our perception and development?
At Dreaming the Future, we invite children up to three years old, their accompanying adults as well as expectant mothers/parents on a sensory journey of discovery through the Archipelago. The space as a central element with its contrasting variety of materials and surfaces—soft, hard, rough, smooth, liquid, solid, light, and dark—is felt, sensed, and observed. Every step and every movement leaves traces, sounds, feelings—they all become part of the space.
Art educators accompany the children and adults and augment the existing spatial elements with paper, fabric, or chalk. Folding, crackling, fluttering, plucking, drawing—fleeting perceptions and graphic signs that spread in all directions like dreams and slowly fade away again.
Max. number of participants: 8 children (0-3 years) and their accompanying adults (max. two per child). Admission is free for accompanying persons for the duration of the workshop. Only the children are required to purchase a ticket.
